
Dr. Mike Rolfes graduated from The Ohio State College of Dentistry in 1985. He is a lifelong Cincinnati resident and an alumnus of St. Xavier High School and Xavier University, and the son of Dr. Ernie Rolfes, a now retired and very well respected Cincinnati pediatrician. He has maintained a private practice in Kenwood since 1987, focusing on adult restorative, esthetic, and preventative care.
Dr. Rolfes has developed the competence and confidence to diagnose, treatment plan and manage the most complex cases, requiring specialty care and extensive restoration. He is an expert in temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), functional occlusion, and esthetic care. He believes in collaborating with each patient to resolve each patient’s concerns and to plan the dentistry that is most appropriate for each individual. And, he is passionate about helping patients with minimal needs maintain their healthy smiles for their lifetime.
Among others courses of study, his extensive postgraduate training includes five levels at The Dawson Academy , six levels at The Pankey Institute, the advanced esthetic training continuum at Aesthetic Advantage, and a mini residency for complex care at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry Graduate Prosthodontic Department. In 2009, Dr. Rolfes was honored to join the visiting faculty of The Pankey Institute, where he spends two weeks each year, helping colleagues from around the world learn advanced care concepts for the comprehensive practice of dentistry.
Dr. Rolfes is a member and advisor to the Cincinnati area Seattle Study Club, a group of dentists and dental specialists focused on the advancement of interdisciplinary team treatment planning and case management. Dr. Mike also participates in two out-of-town study groups with like-minded colleagues from around the country, led by world-class mentors and facilitators. These colleagues are dedicated to developing the advanced skills required for long-lasting dentistry that functions optimally and meets the highest standards of natural beauty. They are also dedicated to developing relationships with their patients and understanding the circumstances of each patient so that all oral health issues can be addressed in a well-planned and caring way.
Dr. Mike is the Director of dental service for Xavier University athletics, and a lifetime fan of XU basketball.
Dr. Mike and his wife, Karen, have four children ages 18-24, two boys and two girls. Karen is an accomplished local artist and you will see her work displayed in the office! Together they lead a very active family and health oriented lifestyle, enjoying gardening, golf, cooking, and summer vacations in Northern Michigan.
